The White Tower
in the centre of the complex, was the first section to be built by William. Finished in 1097, it was the tallest building in the land at 90 feet high. It now houses a museum of the Royal armour, begun by Henry vIII in 1520. It includes weapons and defensive apparel. It is very interesting.
