St Pol de Leon

After Rennes we drove to a campsite in St Pol de Leon on the north coast of France, in Brittany, near Roscoff, the ferry port for our departure. This was the first time we had an electricity connection!
You would think that such a small, non-important town would be of little interest ... Think again! This is France. Every little hamlet has an amazing history dating back to the beginning of civila¡isation. Even this small place had two very inpressive churches. This cathedral was built in the 12th century and still has its original ciborium - thats the canopy over the altar. It was under renovation so we couldn't go in. The altar is made of black marble.
